Homemade Blackberry Ice Cream
Ice cream is such a delicious treat! This one has a spark of summer added by incorporating yummy fresh blackberries. Make your own with this easy no churn recipe for homemade blackberry ice cream, no ice cream freezer required!
Making ice cream in the summer is a family tradition. We’d all gather at my grandmother’s house and break out an old hand-crank ice cream freezer. We’d each take turns cranking the ice cream and my grandpa would always take the final shift as he was the only one who could turn the handle at the end!
Out would come delicious vanilla ice cream that we’d top with sprinkles or other goodies. Occasionally we’d make blackberry ice cream instead. Sadly we don’t gather in a large group often anymore and my kids are too young to help crank. Instead, we now make this yummy no-churn version!
It does require 4-6 hours in the freezer so make it the night before or make it first thing in the morning so it’s ready for dessert or even an afternoon treat. (I always like my kids to have ice cream in the afternoon long before bedtime!)
Ingredients for Blackberry Ice Cream

First, you need to prep those blackberries. Give them a good rinsing and then puree them.
Next, pour your heavy whipping cream in a bowl. In another bowl combine your sweetened condensed milk and vanilla.
Take a hand mixer and mix your heavy cream until it begins to thicken and form peaks.
Now it’s time to combine. Add your other liquid ingredients as well as your blackberry puree. Use a silicone spatula to gently combine all the ingredients.
Don’t mix or combine too vigorously or it will lose its thickness.
Gently move the mix into a pan. A metal loaf pan works best. Freeze for 4-6 hours.
Remove it from the freezer and allow to soften for 5-10 minutes before serving.
