These little trees make a perfect dessert for a kids Christmas party. They can easily be individually wrapped in cellophane bags as well.
I love that these are easy for kids to help make. Young kids especially can have short attention spans.
Rice krispie treats come together quickly so there’s not too long of a wait and there are only 4 ingredients which makes it an easy recipe for kiddos.
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 10 oz marshmallows (regular or mini)
- 4 cups fruity pebbles
- 2 cups rice krispies
- Christmas tree cookie cutter
- Optional: mini m&ms, frosting, and sprinkles for decorating
Make sure you use real butter. Margarine or reduced calorie butter isn’t going to work for this recipe.
These are your basic rice krispie treat ingredients. You can change the amount of each cereal used so long as you use 6 cups total.
How to Make Fruity Pebble Christmas Trees
1 – Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spray lightly with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
2 – Using a nonstick pot, melt the butter over a low heat. If the heat is too high your butter may burn.
3 – Add the marshmallows and stir until they are mostly melted.
4 – Remove from heat and quickly add the rice krispies and fruity pebbles. Gently fold in the cereal until it’s completely coated with the marshmallow mixture.
5 – Pour it onto the parchment paper. Coat your hands lightly with oil and butter and lightly press down on the mixture until it’s about 1/4 inch thick all over.

Allow them to cool completely before moving on to step 6
6 – Use a cookie cutter to cut out your Christmas trees. Cut them close together so you can get as many trees as possible.

You can also cut them into other fun shapes if desired.
How many treats you get will depend on the size of cookie cutter you use.
7 – Decorate if desired.
You can add frosting, a star sprinkles as a tree topper or mini m&ms for ornaments!

Storage
You can easily store rice krispie treats for a couple days if you make them ahead of time. Keep them in an air tight container at room temperature so they don’t get dried out.
According to the official rice krispie treat directions you can even freeze them for up to six weeks!
