Pumpkin Fluff dip or topping
It’s time for pumpkin everything! Including pumpkin dip. This pumpkin fluff dip recipe can also be used as pumpkin whipped cream. I love how versatile it is.

When to make pumpkin fluff
Pumpkin fluff makes a great dip to set out as an appetizer for a get together, or you can make it to eat all by yourself…I won’t tell. You can even serve it inside a cleaned out pumpkin to make it extra festive.
You can also use it in place of regular whipped cream on a piece of pie or to replace regular cool whip when topping a no bake dessert.
Ingredients
- 1 (5.3 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 (15 ounce) can pure pumpkin
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1 (16 ounce) container cool whip, thawed
- Optional: items for dipping
How to make pumpkin fluff
This recipe is about as easy as it gets! It uses just 4 ingredients and comes together in about 5 minutes.
1 – Mix together vanilla pudding mix, pumpkin, and pumpkin pie spice until blended.
2 – Fold in half of the whipped topping. Then, fold in the remaining whipped topping until blended.
Don’t over mix or the cool whip will start to break down and you pumpkin fluff will end up runny.
3 – Serve with items for dipping or use it to top your favorite fall dessert.
Want to make it look extra pretty? Put it in a piping bag or ziploc bag (then snip the corner) and pipe it into a bowl for a fancier look.
What should I use for dipping?
You can use whatever you like but here are some delicious suggestions:
- apple slices
- ginger snaps
- shortbread cookies
- pretzels
- graham crackers
- teddy graham cookies
Can I make it ahead of time?
This dish is going to best when it’s pretty fresh. It only takes a few minutes to make. You can make it a few hours ahead of time but you’ll want to store it in the fridge.
The cool whip will begin to break down if it gets too hot or gets mixed too much.

- In a large bowl mix together the vanilla pudding mix, pumpkin, and pumpkin pie spice until well blended.

- Serve with items for dipping or top your favorite fall dessert or breakfast items.
Notes
- Don't overmix or the cool whip will fall apart
- Keep chilled until ready to serve so it doesn't melt.
